Pinellas County's Largest No-Kill Shelter
Welcome to the Humane Society of Pinellas
Pinellas County’s Largest No-Kill Shelter
Tropical Storm Erika “PUP-date”
With the possibility of a tropical storm affecting Pinellas County by the early morning Monday, August 31st, The Humane Society of Pinellas is attempting to find homes for the majority of animals this weekend. Being an outdoor shelter, we are proactively trying to prevent our animals from “weathering the storm.”
While we do have emergency housing on deck, we want to encourage pets to find their forever homes before Tropical Storm Erika arrives; therefore, all adoptable dogs and cats will be 50% off this weekend and all pocket pets are free to good homes.
We encourage everyone to please be safe and prepared! Our website has helpful disaster preparedness tips to prepare you and your pets for potential storms. Ensure you have plenty of pet food in case you experience flooding and that your pets are microchipped and have identification tags. Be safe Pinellas!
We will continue our “Raining Cats” adoption event on Monday, August 31st. Something tells us that adoption fees will be significantly reduced – we foresee a 100% chance of rain!
Who We Are
The Humane Society of Pinellas is the county’s largest No-Kill animal shelter. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has been caring for the homeless pets in our community since 1949. We rely solely on your donations to provide our lifesaving services!
We are committed to keeping pets and people together through a variety of programs including our Affordable Pet Clinic and Spay-Neuter Clinics and our Pet Food Pantry. When pet surrender is the only option, our No Time Limit policy offers the opportunity for every adoptable pet to have its own second chance success story (click to read our Humane Euthanasia Policy).
Looking for a new family member? The Humane Society of Pinellas has lots of adorable and adoptable pets waiting for a home. Stop in to meet our pets! We adopt out dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, bunnies, hamsters, birds, guinea pigs, ferrets and more.
