…and a Best Friend for Life!

  • First and foremost, make sure you understand and are willing to accept the responsibilities of owning a pet.  You will be responsible for providing for the pet’s physical, medical, and behavioral needs for the rest of the pet’s life!
  • House pets only!  Your adopted pet will live indoors as part of your family (no guard dogs or “outside” cats or dogs)
  • Make sure everyone gets along: Everyone in your family should meet the new pet prior to adoption.
  • Some of our pets have age restrictions.  Everyone who lives in or regularly visits your home should be old enough to live with that particular pet.
  • If you already have pets at home:  We will need to verify that they are up to date on their rabies vaccines.  Also, bring your current dog in to meet the potential new dog!
  • If you rent:  We will need to check that your landlord doesn’t mind a new pet in the home
  • You must be at least 18 years old to adopt
